Truck RentalTruck rentals are a great tool for those of us who need things hauled, carried away, or moved somewhere else, but who would otherwise be disinclined to ever need to drive a truck. Truck rentals are plusses and minuses. They’re good because they’re utilitarian and they assist really in a time when anything else wouldn’t be economical in terms of time or resources. They’re bad because they’re not very good on gas mileage, they’re sometime tough to handle, you definitely shouldn’t go out and play Speed Racer with your truck like you do your sports car, and because they’re so long (and some of them have mirrors with poor depth perception) they’re prone to hitting things that are stationary which can get you into a little or a lot of trouble.Truck rentals are available almost everywhere; your local hardware store, your big box chain hardware store, your moving source be it Uhaul, Ryder, Budget, or any of the other large moving companies. In a place like Manhattan, where I live, there are also moving services that come with a truck, men and boxes, and hand trucks, pulleys, rope, tape and anything else you could need. You rent the men and the truck; I’ll tell you I moved from a fifth floor walk up, back uptown to an elevator building and I will NEVER move my own stuff again; at least not in the city. Having other guys move my stuff was a dream; especially when it came to going down, down, down the stairs. Truck leasing can also be taken on for longer terms if you’re working on a construction project and you need to have access for a few months to a pickup or some other vehicle. This is sometimes also done by used car lots, new car dealerships who sell pickups, or rental car places. Discount truck rentals are obviously cheapest during off season; a lot less people move between Thanksgiving and New Years (or at least that’s what’s statistics say) so you’re a lot more likely to get a better deal around those times. Specialty truck leasing can also be had if you need a dump truck for instance or something of that nature. You’d need to find a local company that had one to spare and work out something with them that way. Same to be said for tow trucks; try going to the repo man in town and seeing what he’s got or if he can help you locate something. Truck rentals can also be had “hourly” to clear away debris say leaves or trash from a removal site if you just need to get the stuff out and keep working. Overall trucks are an important part of the industrious American way of life.
